Mollie

Mollie is a 5-year-old Collie with a calm and playful personality. At home, she is an easygoing, affectionate companion who loves spending time with her people. She'll happily bring you a toy when she's ready to play, enjoys a spirited game of tug-of-war, and absolutely adores rolling around in the grass with pure joy. One of her sweetest habits is cocking her head and moving her ears as if she's carefully listening to every word you say and giving you paw voluntarily after a sit command.

Mollie is fully housebroken with great indoor manners and communicates well when she needs to go outside. She has free run of the house, respects baby gates and barriers, is comfortable with brushing and household noises like the vacuum, and settles into a predictable evening routine, happily calling it a day around 9 p.m.

She's a smart girl who is highly food motivated, making her a great candidate for continued positive reinforcement training. Mollie already knows several commands—including sit, down, stay, and come—and is making encouraging progress with "leave it" when working around distractions. Mollie enjoys car rides, walks nicely on a leash in quiet areas without distractions, and loves spending time outdoors.

While Mollie shines inside the home, she is still learning to navigate the outside world. Moving objects like bikes, dogs, people, rabbits, and squirrels seen while she's on a leash can cause her to become reactive, resulting in barking and excessive pulling. Her foster family has already started working on this behavior, and her forever home will need to continue her training to reinforce good manners. Because of this, a securely fenced yard is required where she can safely enjoy fresh air and play without the stress of frequent encounters with her outdoor triggers.

Mollie would thrive in a calm, predictable home with adults or older, dog-savvy teens. She has flourished as the only pet in her foster home and would do best as your One and Only.

Mollie has a mild case of "collie nose," which causes localized hair loss and pink or red skin on her nose. It’s easily managed with daily sunblock and over-the-counter supplements.

Mollie is looking for someone willing to see past her challenges and recognize the incredible companion she already is. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, she'll reward her family with loyalty, laughter, and endless affection.
