In 2019, CRGI responded to the Sherrard hoarding case — one of the largest collie rescues in Illinois history. Among the dozens of collies pulled from that desperate situation was a gentle, scruffy boy named Buddy.
Buddy was underweight, matted, and scared of everything. But with months of patient foster care, he blossomed into the sweetest, goofiest collie you'll ever meet. Today, Buddy lives his best life with his forever family — and he never misses a chance to celebrate.
This April, Buddy celebrates his 4th birthday! To celebrate, his family has pledged a $4,000 matching gift — every dollar you donate is doubled, dollar-for-dollar, up to $4,000. That means your $25 gift becomes $50 for collies in need.
