Payton Sable and White Rough Male 6 years Adopted!

Well, we are finally ready to release the news about Payton - one of Collie Rescue's best kept secrets!

You may have noticed that Payton hasn't had a bio posted up 'till now - that's because the list of what was wonderful about him just kept growing! Our typing fingers couldn't keep up with the glowing reports from his foster mom.

Payton is a happy, well-adjusted 6 year-old sable & white male. This handsome boy's full collie coat got a bit out of hand and was shaved prior to arriving - you may have noticed that he is sporting a jaunty summer buzz cut - but in a few months his coat will be back in it's full glory. Having a short cut now will mean a little more care from his forever family to ensure Payton doesn't get a sunburn in this sizzling summer sun, but since he is a tiny bit of a couch potato that shouldn't be too difficult!

Payton came to Collie Rescue with lifetime friend Hokie Pokey, and has always lived with other dogs. He seems to know no strangers - just friends he hasn't met yet. He loves people, other dogs, and is even gentle with kitties. We aren't sure how he feels about children, but can't imagine him being anything but wonderful. He walks nicely on his leash, loves to ride in the car, and has beautiful house manners. This absolute gem of a collie barks politely at the door when he needs to go out, and then again to come in when his 'business' is complete - how nice is that?

Payton's primary goal in life, however, seems to be to accompany you wherever you go. From room to room, this attentive and loving boy will follow you, then settle down close - ready to spring into action if you need a helper! Calm and easy going, Payton seems delighted with life, and so happy to be with you - in short, he is everything you imagine a collie should be! Payton is a big boy, and could stand to lose a few pounds, so his forever family should be prepared to urge him off of the couch and around the block on a regular basis. A fenced yard is always preferred for our collie friends, but Payton is such a lover that he probably won't go too far from your side so this isn't a must.
