Hi, everyone! My name is Keebo, and I just recently stopped in to check out this whole Rescue thing. Right now I am living with a foster family and it's going pretty well. They've been helping me learn some things I didn't know before, and while I still need some convincing that all this is necessary, I have to admit that life is better when you follow the rules. See, my last family was getting a d-i-v-o-r-c-e (whatever that is) and they didn't have a lot of time to pay attention to me. I pretty much got to do whatever I wanted, and that suited me just fine. I still have to be convinced that your way is the best way, and I respond much better when you praise me for being good than scold me for being bad. I do like to talk a lot, but am learning that there are times this is OK and times when I should be quiet so I'll need someone who can keep teaching me about this, and be firm when I forget. I get along fine with the other dogs in my foster home, but probably would be best if I had a laid-back friend to live with in my forever home - as I said, I like having things my way and I'll tell any pushy dogs that if I have to! Cats are OK, but I don't know why they won't play with me. I paw at them and kiss them, but most of the time they hiss & run away, so I have to bark and try to catch up with them. I guess a house with a dog-savy cat would be best. Taking walks is fun, and I like to go out on my least, but I'm pretty strong, and like to go where I want to. If you adopt me, we'll need to go to obedience school so I can work on that. In return, I'll help you keep the kitchen clean by clearing the countertops of any food you may have left out, OK? My foster family doesn't like the assistance, but hey, I'm just trying to help! Right now I live in a house that isn't in a neighborhood and that type of place might be good as a forever home, too. It'll be really hard not to bark if there is a lot of commotion and I might want to chase bikes and cars and stuff. I definitely need a fenced yard so I can run off some of my energy. I have lived with children before, and there is a cool teenager in my foster home now, but any children need to be old enough to help me learn, and big enough that I can't knock them over if I get excited. I greet my foster family with tail wags when they come home from work, and will go to them for attention, but I am a little standoffish otherwise - if you start giving in & doing everything they want, people tend to think they are the boss of you! So that's me, Keebo! I'll admit that I'm something of a diamond in the rough, but if you'll give me a chance and help me catch up on the things I need to learn, I think we'll be a good match! I just had my second birthday, and would like for this to be the year I get a family again - can you grant my birthday wish? |
