Truman came to us from a shelter in Missouri - the 'Show Me' state - and boy, does this special little guy have a lot to share! Truman is not a purebred collie - we suspect that he is a Collie/Husky mix - but he is 100% adorable. Take a look at those beautiful brown eyes - isn't he gorgeous?? Truman is heartworm positive and has completed the second of his three treatments, but it hasn't slowed him down or dampened his spirits - he greets every day with a big smile. Truman has a dark coat, and a strongly marked widow's peak on his forehead. His plumed tail curves up over his back when he is happy - and he is happy almost all of the time. Play bows, the 'collie lean' and chatty 'woo woo woos' when he is stretching - well, there is no way you aren't going to fall in love the minute you meet him - we all did! This cheerful little guy loves everyone - adults, children and dogs. He touched noses with cats at the vet, but he probably will not be good in a home with small animals. Truman recently discovered chickens at his foster home, and has developed an obsession with them - and we are guessing that this will carry over to anything small & fast moving. Still a baby at only 18 months of age, Truman has a lot of puppy characteristics and will need guidance as he grows into a canine good citizen, but he has a very good attitude and is quite smart, so should learn quickly. A fenced yard is preferred for future romping. Truman rides well in the car, and seems to enjoy traveling! Truman will finish his heartworm treatment in January, so if you are starting your New Years Resolution list now, put Truman at the top and be prepared for a wonderful 2010! |
