Shannon Sable and White Rough Female 8 years Adopted!

My name is Shannon, and I am a mahogany sable & white female collie. I guess my coloring is a little special, 'cause I sure get a lot of attention from people when the see me! When I'm just standing still, sometimes people think I'm a tri-color because my coat looks black - but just wait 'till I run, or a breeze blows! Then you can see that only the tips of my hair are black - the bottom is a rich, luxurious caramel color! I have a thick white ruff, and something they call a 'widow's peak' on my forehead, and people tell me I am very pretty.

Well, pretty is as pretty does, my mother used to say, and what's more important is how you act. I've always tried to mind my manners, and at 8 years of age, I think I've got the hang of it! I am a gentle, happy girl, who most of all likes to be with people. I'm not too big on doing tricks or running after a ball, but if you want somebody to keep you company while you garden, or watch TV or even just someone to pet, I'm your girl. I don't know many tricks like 'sit' or 'down' and I wander a little from side to side when I walk on my leash, but that's mostly because no one taught me to do anything else. If you'd like to help me with these things, I'll do my best, because what I want most is to make you happy.

I'll sleep in my crate, but I can be trusted in the house if you want to just give me a big pillow, or a spot near your bed. I am very good about going outside to potty - I learned that a long time ago - and I don't jump on people. I like other dogs, and I ride nicely in the car. I do play bows and tail wags when I see you, and smile big collie smiles. I have lived with children and like them, but I can be counted on not to play too rough!
