Just when you thought winter was here for good - Summer returns! Summer was adopted by a family who loved her very much, but problems arose when our little girl started attending training class. It seems that seeing all those yummy treats being handed out to other dogs raised some food aggression issues, and it started carrying over to the pug who lived in her new home. Finally, Summer's family had to make the difficult decision to return Summer to us. We think that it would be best for Summer to be an only dog, and she agrees wholeheartedly! Summer thinks she is all anyone would ever want, anyway, and she may just be correct. A firm, experienced family is needed to help our girl become the well adjusted canine good citizen that she can be. Summer has proved herself good with children, and is fine with cats - so if you are looking for a pretty sable girl to be your one-and-only, well, here she is! Meet Summer, an 8-month old, sable & white female who is just as sunny & happy as her name implies! An adorable little girl with a tail as jaunty as a flag on the Fourth of July, your life will be fireworks and fried chicken every day once she joins your family. Summer is still young, so has a lot to learn and will need an experienced collie family to help her grow into a well-mannered young lady. She already knows how to sit and down on command, and while she walks willingly and happily on her leash, her technique needs a little bit of work. Obedience training after her adoption will help her with this, and she is such a willing student she will probably be at the head of her class. Right now Summer is just a little timid - she has had a lot of changes in the past few weeks, and she will need a patient family to help her explore her new life. A fenced yard is a must for Summer while she bonds with her new family. Summer has been friendly with the resident collie in her foster home and seems so glad to have a big sister! We aren't sure how she feels about cats yet, but her foster mom will let us know once they meet a few at the local feed store. Summer will be up for that trip - she loves to ride in the car, and even gives the driver collie kisses from the back seat! So when the snow is deep and the temperatures outside have a wind chill factor, you'll be able to call 'Summer!' and have sunshine run joyfully to you. You might even want to keep your sunglasses handy! |
