Blaine

Sable and White Rough Male

4 years

Adopted!

A family packs their belongings into a moving van. They lock the front door, and drop the keys in the mail slot. Slowly, the van pulls out of the driveway, followed by the family car. They are off to a new home, and a new life.

But wait! Something has been left behind. Will they stop and go back? The sad thing is that they didn't. The family just kept driving until they disappeared down the street. And what was it they left behind?

A collie. A beautiful mahogany sable collie, tied to his doghouse in the chill of a late October morning. The collie waited. He slept. He stood at the end of his rope, and stared intently toward the street, but the people never came back for him. He curled into a tight ball and shivered in his house night after night, his water dirty, his food gone, but the people never returned.

The name 'Blaine' means 'source of the river' and like a river, Blaine's life has already had twists & turns and more than a little turbulance. Shortly after he arrived, Blaine tested positive for heartworms, and sadly, he has a bad case of it. Treatment has begun, but Blaine is finding it difficult to remain quiet in his crate, and is very unhappy about his enforced confinement. This poor boy really has no reason to trust people, but has a wonderful, patient foster father to help him learn that while some people might abandon dogs, families never would - and that Blaine is safe with the Collie Rescue family.

Blaine has two hearts that need healing - the one that beats to allow him to live, and the one that will let him love. Please keep him in your thoughts as both recover.
