Koda Sable and White Rough Male 8 years Adoption pending

Koda is an 8 yr old sable and white rough coated male. He has been overfed in his previous home and weighed in at a chunky 112 lbs! It is unfortunate that his owners turned him into a shelter because he was "too big" -- geez who made him that way! We immediately put Koda on a diet to help him loose some of those extra pounds. This is will be a slow process for Koda but we are just amazed how well this guy moves considering the weight on him. He runs and plays fetch and just loves to roll in the grass out in the yard.

We were told that Koda would be best placed as a only dog -- he does not enjoy the company of other dogs. He certainly has proven to love people and is an very friendly dog with people. He just loves attention. We also think he would be best placed in a home without cats. He walks nicely on a leash but we are limiting his walks to short walks -- exercise is something we have to work up to slowly with his weight problem. He rides very good in the car and seems to know those special words "wanna go for a ride" his tail just wags and wags and he smiles "Let's go". It seems that he knows a few commands and someone taught him how to fetch, he loves a good game of fetch although we are limiting this exercise also, he seems to tire easily with the extra weigh on those legs. Koda loves to be the center of attention and is a very friendly loving dog. We are currently looking for a foster home for Koda. You won't regret binging this well mannered gentle giant into your home!
