Marcy Sable and White Rough Female 12 weeks Adopted!

Marcy is a sweet, georgeous sable/white collie puppy born January 21, 2008. Marcy was born with no eyes so her eyelids are closed. Marcy was taken to one of the top ophthamologists and she also had an ultrasound done that confirmed that there were no eyes in the socket. Marcy has severe micro opthalmia. This does not mean that Marcy cannot see you. A blind puppy's other senses will over compensate for their loss. In the past we have seen many dogs, not just collies, without eyes and they function very well in their own environment. Also, after extensive training and pure love, they will walk with you anyplace on leash because they trust you. Yes, Marcy will need a fenced in yard to keep her safe.

Also, highly recommended would be either another collie or a herding breed to assist Marcy in growing up as normal as possible. This companion would be her eyes and teach her how to play and run. She will also be able to play with her humans given patience in teaching her to "see you". She can still hear and feel.
