Jake is a sable and white rough coated male collie who we estimate to be about 3 years old. His pictures are a bit shocking and he doesn't look much better in person. This poor boy was part a seizure of 300 animals on a property in Missouri. Jake was covered in fleas and ticks and his coat has been lost from the neglect he suffered. He is extremely emaciated and has sores on his skin. For all he has been through he still has his wonderful collie temperament and loves people, his foster mom is calling him a Velcro dog and he follows her from room to room always by her side. He loves to be petted and get attention, although it is hard sometimes to pet this dog who feels like skin over bones. He is getting along nicely with the female collies in his foster home but longs for a home of his own. He enjoys lying on the couch to watch TV with his foster dad. Jake's foster parents believe he is house broken and he is staying in a crate while they are out. He will go freely into his crate and is an easy going dog. He does need to be trained and when his skin is healed should go to obedience classes to help him become a canine good citizen. Collie Rescue of Greater IL is asking for donations to help with Jake's medical bills you can donate on our website through Pay Pal or send a donation into our PO Box. Jake has a long recovery in front of him to regain his beautiful sable and white coat. He may not look so handsome right now but in time he will be a beautiful collie who has personality plus!
